Name: Harold "Coop" Cooplowski

Age: Late teens to early twenties.
Gender: Male
Personality: Some people are insanely good or ingenius at one thing—or a few things-- but lackluster in most everything else. And as far as Coop goes this definition fits him perfectly. When it comes to mechanics, video games, and eating, Coop is one of the best. Not only did he reprogram a robot from hundreds of years into the future but he modified it. He added several things that even Kiva herself hadn’t installed (Such as the “Manual” mode). This is something that probably even the greatest geniuses of Earth couldn’t do in Coop’s time. And for the most part, he seems to do it effortlessly. Mechanics and modifications seem to come naturally to Coop. And underneath his laid back, hot dog munching exterior lies a level of super genius that even he himself probably doesn’t realize.

When it comes to video games Coop is rather knowledgeable and has played a multitude of games over the past twenty or so years of his life. Thanks to this, he’s become a brilliant pilot, capable of taking on dozens or even hundreds of enemies in a single fight. But on the flipside of this, because he spent a majority of his time playing video games instead of say, studying. He’s not all that smart. It doesn’t take much to confuse him or throw him off balance. It’s a good thing Coop appears to have a large amount of luck because most of the time his stupidity actually works out to his benefit. Well sometimes. Other times he has extremely bad luck which most of which usually involves him pushing the wrong button or not paying enough attention to his surroundings.

For all the people on Earth that could have found Megas, Coop is probably one of the least responsible. He’s completely reckless, and several times throughout the series he has demonstrated that he’s more than willing to throw caution to the wind for the most idiotic things. A few of the main examples of this are the Galactic Combat Championship Federation episodes (‘Battle Royale’ and ‘The Return’). The first of which he decides to compete for the sole reason of obtaining the championship belt, and the latter he simply fights to maintain his right to be the champ. Despite the fact that there was a possibility of seriously endangering Megas’ well-being in both encounters.

Backstory: Before Coop got Megas there’s not much to tell about his backstory. He was never the brightest child, but he always had a firm love for video games. And it’s actually implied he spent most of his time playing them. Somewhere in his early teens-ish he met and became friends with Jamie. Yet even after that, hardly anything changed. And most of the time when they hung out they did the exact same thing Coop did when he was by himself. Which was sit around playing video games and being as unproductive as possible. They didn’t seem to have a lot of dreams or goals. Well at least not outside of getting the latest video games (Coop) or checking out chicks (Jamie). That is until Coop discovers a giant mech from the future in his friend’s junkyard called Megas.

After Coop obtained Megas, everything in his life changed. Well. Mostly everything. Sort of. For the most part they were still the same as before, except now they had an awesome giant mechanical robot from the future. Coop’s personality didn’t alter that much, but now he had to take on the incredible responsibility of becoming a form of protector for New Jersey, and sometimes even the entire Earth as a whole. A responsibility that the majority of the time he doesn’t take seriously.

Moral Standing: Coop is definitely Chaotic Good. While he saves the Earth and New Jersey from countless hordes of aliens on a daily basis… he usually has to destroy the entire city to do so. Once he even put NJ into another Ice Age after blocking out the sun with exhaust smoke from Megas. His intentions, for the most part, are for the good of himself, his friends, and mankind. But on average he does just as much harm as he does good.

Dreams: Coop doesn’t have a lot of dreams. And typically Coop’s dreams are very day by day. Either he wants to get something to eat, smash some alien’s heads in, or beat up bad guys. He doesn’t have a lot of long term dreams. The best dream he probably has is being able to pilot Megas for as long as he can and to help Kiva keep her future intact. And maybe hanging out with Jamie and doing stuff in the junk yard every now and then.

Fears: Coop’s biggest fear is most likely losing his friends and/or his robot. Failing to protect New Jersey from a powerful threat would also be pretty high on the list as well. Besides that though, there's not a lot that scares the guy. He was even pretty chilled after he was captured by the Glorft.

Extra:
Coop’s Stomach:: Coop has a near bottomless stomach, and has won several hot dog eating contests because of it. In one contest he’s even eaten well over one hundred hot dogs in a single sitting.
